About The Pedernales
The Pedernales borrows from the Texas Hill Country: a chopped limestone base, a tall stone chimney, a silver metal roof and a 12-foot-deep porch on rough cedar posts. Inside, a floor-to-ceiling limestone fireplace, mesquite-toned wood and leather make the great room the heart of the home, and a pergola patio with an outdoor fireplace extends it outside.

Living in The Pedernales
Who it suits
The Pedernales suits people who want stone-and-cedar Hill Country style with outdoor living front and back. A porch 12 ft deep spans the front, and the back patio has a pergola and its own fireplace. Bedroom 3 is also labeled a study.
Room by room
- Front door: a pair of doors, 5 ft wide together, opens into the great room, 24 ft 6 in by 35 ft, where the limestone fireplace stands.
- Everyday rooms: the powder room, laundry, pantry and coat closet all open off the great room.
- Primary suite: 21 ft by 19 ft, with a bath, a walk-in closet and a door into the great room.
- Bedrooms: a hall leads to Bedroom 2, which has its own closet, then Bath 2 and Bedroom 3 / study.
- Rear patio: through an 8 ft glass door you reach a patio 26 x 12 ft with a cedar pergola and an outdoor fireplace.
Build notes
- The roof is 6:12 with 11 ft 6 in eaves and a 20 ft 6 in ridge. The front porch is 68 ft long, with a 3:12 shed roof and 8 posts.
- The indoor chimney is 3 ft wide and rises through the front roof slope 1 ft 3 in from the ridge. The outdoor fireplace is 6 ft wide masonry against the rear wall.
- The patio has no roof. Your engineer sizes the footing under the outdoor fireplace.
The exterior and interior images are concept renderings of this design, not photographs of a built home. Finishes and fixtures are illustrative; the plan governs. The floor plan is drawn from the plan set. Areas are approximate and measured to the outside face of exterior walls; porches, garages and shops are listed separately.

Sizes are clear inside dimensions for rooms and rough openings for doors and windows, from the plan set. Roof heights are above the finished floor. The structure and foundation lines are typical starting points: the drawings are not stamped, and your builder's engineer sizes members, footings and anchorage for your site, soil, snow, wind and frost depth.
