About The Mulberry
The Mulberry pairs warm greige board-and-batten with a dark bronze roof and a cedar porch that turns the corner. The front door opens into a long great room, with the kitchen at the back and a covered porch beyond its glass door. A mudroom and laundry space connects the house to the attached garage. The primary bedroom has its own bath and walk-in closet, while a second bedroom sits across the great room.

Living in The Mulberry
Who it suits
The Mulberry suits a small household that wants an attached garage and a porch along two sides of the house. The garage meets the mudroom, and the front door opens directly into the shared living space.
Room by room
- Great room: the front wall has a 3 ft entry door between two 2 ft 6 in wide windows; a 5 ft glass door on the rear wall leads toward the covered porch.
- Primary suite: the bedroom is 12 ft 6 in by 15 ft, with windows on the front and left walls; its bath and walk-in closet each open from the bedroom.
- Bedroom 2: 11 x 12 ft, with a front window and a door from the great room. Bath 2 also opens from the great room.
- Kitchen side: the walk-in pantry opens from the great room, while the mudroom and laundry space leads to the garage and the mechanical room.
Build notes
- One 6:12 gable roof spans the house and right-hand garage, with an 11 ft eave and one ridge.
- The wraparound porch runs 42 ft across the front and 30 ft along the left side, with an 8 ft depth on both legs.
- The covered back porch is 16 x 8 ft; both porch roofs are shown at 3:12.
- The plan is drawn for conventional wood framing. Your builder or engineer adapts it for steel or post-frame construction and decides structural members, footings and connections.
The exterior and interior images are concept renderings of this design, not photographs of a built home. Finishes and fixtures are illustrative; the plan governs. The floor plan is drawn from the plan set. Areas are approximate and measured to the outside face of exterior walls; porches, garages and shops are listed separately.

- Structure
- Drawn for conventional wood (stick) framing; trusses, posts, beams and footings are sized by the builder's engineer. A steel-frame or post-frame version is an adaptation your builder or engineer makes. Member sizes, connections and loads are by your builder's engineer for your site.
- Foundation
- Typical starting point: monolithic slab-on-grade with a thickened edge (a stem wall where frost depth requires), footings below the local frost line, a footing under every interior bearing line and girder point, and porch-post footings with uplift ties. Slab thickness, footing sizes, reinforcing and anchorage are sized by your engineer for your soil, frost depth and loads; shop and garage slabs are usually heavier than living-area slabs.
- Counts
- 8 windows, 3 exterior doors, 2 overhead doors, 15 porch posts

Sizes are clear inside dimensions for rooms and rough openings for doors and windows, from the plan set. Roof heights are above the finished floor. The structure and foundation lines are typical starting points: the drawings are not stamped, and your builder's engineer sizes members, footings and anchorage for your site, soil, snow, wind and frost depth.
